The US equivalence would most likely be 'first professional degree in law', or Juris Doctor, but this should be based on an official evaluation. There is no equal international qualification. It is usually organization's opinion based on research and approved universities/courses. An important distinction is that someone with a foreign degree, even if found equivalent to JD, is not likely to pass the bar exam required to practice law in the US.
A university application is not likely to require the US equivalence. A university usually requests, or does the credential evaluation to determine what it is.
