When do I need my educational credentials evaluated?
You usually need your educational credentials evaluated when you are planning to study or work in the United States. Colleges, universities, employers, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) generally require an educational credentials evaluation.
Which evaluation do I need?
This depends on your situation. Educational institutions, employers, and USCIS may request a Course-by-Course evaluation, but a Document-by-Document evaluation may be sufficient in some cases.
Will your evaluation meet U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requirements?
Yes. Our evaluations meet USCIS regulations.
Will all colleges and universities in the United States accept your evaluation?
Most colleges and universities will accept our evaluation. However, some of them do evaluations in-house or require a specific organization to provide the evaluation. You should check with the college or university to which you are applying to find out whether this is the case.
Can you translate my documents?
Yes. We can translate your documents from almost any language.
Can I translate the documents myself?
We only accept documents in their native language or with a Certified translation. This is necessary to ensure the accuracy of the evaluation.
Can I get the equivalence of a Bachelor degree based on a combination of my work experience and education?
Yes, but this can only be done for immigration purposes.
Do I need a college degree to receive an H-1B visa?
No. When applying for H-1B visa, it is possible to substitute 1 year of study with 3 years of professional work experience. This means that 12 years of professional work experience would be equivalent to a 4-year college degree.
Can you include my work experience in my educational credentials evaluation?
This would require a special Education and Work Experience evaluation. It is recommended that you contact an immigration attorney prior to requesting this kind of evaluation.
How long does it take to process an evaluation?
Our time for processing an evaluation is 5-10 business days unless you request rush service, in which case it can be completed in as little as 1-2 business days.
What does an evaluation contain?
This depends on whether you request a Document-by-Document evaluation or a Course-by-Course evaluation. See our comparison page for details.
Do you evaluate all foreign degrees to a Bachelor degree?
No. 5 or 6 year degrees may be equivalent to a Master's degree.
Can I get Ph.D. credentials based on my foreign diploma?
Yes. You will need to submit a copy of the first page of the dissertation or a link to a reputable source where it can be verified online.
Can you equate my certificates and diplomas to an Associate degree?
Yes. Certifications and diplomas of some colleges may be equivalent to an Associate degree.
Can you evaluate middle or high school degrees or credits?
Yes. In some cases this can save several years of study.
Can you evaluate a medical doctor's degree?
Yes. We can evaluate a medical doctor's degree to a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. This is usually sufficient for jobs that do not require a medical license. Medical licensing in the United States is done by state medical boards and requires additional training and examination.
